Spacecraft Status Summary

The Spacecraft Status Summary tab provides a basic, high-level summary of the Spacecraft's orientation, status, and activity during a Simulation Run using several informational panels.

Main UI

Sunlight / Eclipsed

This indicates whether or not the spacecraft is in view of the sun.

Sunlight Indicator -or- Eclipse Indicator

Attitude Determined / Undetermined

Indicates whether or not the spacecraft attitude is determined.

Attitude Determined -or- Attitude Undetermined

Monitored Channel Alarms

This indicates whether the spacecraft is operating in the green (normally) or if some telemetry value has crossed into a warning state (from least to most severe: Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange, or Red). The number in the box indicates the number of telemetry points that are currently being monitored by SOLIS. Telemetry Monitoring is configured via the Telemetry Monitoring page.

Monitored Channel Alarms

Attitude/Momentum

This displays the current angular position, rate, and overall spacecraft momentum.

Power Systems

Batteries

This displays the current state of all the batteries described on the Power/Thermal Batteries tab. The Battery voltage indicates the voltage of the battery based on the state of charge. The State of Charge (SOC) and Rate of Charge (Charge) are indicated both numerically and with graphic indicators. When the power balance of the spacecraft is positive, these four indicators turn green, as shown below:

Batteries

Likewise, when the spacecraft goes into eclipse or the solar panels turn away from the sun, the indicators turn yellow. If the State of Charge falls below 70%, the indicator color changes from yellow to pink.

Solar Panels

This displays the total output of all the panels as configured in the Power/Thermal Panels tab.

System Power

This displays the total load on the spacecraft, which can be dynamic to include Payload, Communication System, and Actuator activity if configured as such on the Power/Thermal Power tab.

Payloads/Comm

This displays the following payload and communications information:

  • Key Status information for two payloads from the Payloads page
    • Select Payload: The dropdown menu enables you to select a Payload to monitor.
    • Payload Mode: This shows the user-defined Mode that the Payload is currently in.
    • P/L Data Rate: This shows the data rate generation for each Payload.
  • Data Recorder information
    • Data Recorder: Total Data Recorder storage available
    • Recorder % Full: Percent of data recorder in use
  • Key Comm data from the Communications System page
    • Select Comm: The dropdown menu enables you to select a Comm System to monitor.
    • Comm Status: This shows you what this particular Comm System is doing.
    • Current Tx Rate: This shows the transmitting data rate in real time.
    • Current Rx Rate: This shows the receiving data rate in real time.
